Oversee material selection and testing for road and infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards. Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to develop material strategies and provide expert advice on material properties and suitability. Conduct site inspections and evaluations to assess material performance during construction. Prepare and review technical reports, including material test results and specifications. Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials. Implement quality control measures and oversee material testing procedures in accordance with relevant standards and regulations. Provide guidance and training to junior engineers and staff regarding material engineering practices. Participate in project meetings and communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
