As the Asset Manager, you will help manage the central asset register, support data quality processes, and ensure asset information systems meet operational and governance needs. Your work will contribute to a trusted single source of truth for city assets and support better lifecycle management, maintenance, and investment planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining and updating the central asset register to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Support asset data standards, governance controls, and configuration management processes.
- Help implement asset classification and hierarchy structures across districts, asset types, and systems.
- Conduct data quality checks, validation, cleansing, and basic reconciliation activities.
- Support the capture and verification of asset information during handover, adoption, and acceptance processes.
- Work with operational and technical teams to gather, update, and report asset data.
- Assist in the use and basic administration of asset management systems and digital tools.
- Prepare standard reports and data extracts to support asset performance tracking, compliance, and planning.
- Coordinate with teams to ensure asset data supports maintenance schedules, renewals, and budget decisions.
- Support data-related audits, assurance activities, and governance reviews.
- Identify data gaps or issues and propose practical solutions to improve asset information quality.
Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Asset Management, or a related field.
- Experience of working in asset management for a city municipality and/or property management or operations.
- Applied Knowledge and understanding of ISO55001 standards
- Working with industry best practices for implementing effective asset management processes across the lifecycle of physical assets.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in asset inventory management, asset control, or related disciplines.
- Proven experience with asset management software and systems, preferably within large-scale organizations.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
- Experience in developing and implementing asset management policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with asset registers, data governance principles, and basic lifecycle processes.
- Ability to collaborate with operational, technical, and governance teams.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Experience in public sector, infrastructure, facilities management, or city operations is desirable.
