As the Director - Lighting, you will be responsible for developing lighting strategies, managing a talented team of lighting designers, and collaborating closely with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver innovative and sustainable lighting solutions that align with Qiddiya s mission and brand identity.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee the implementation of comprehensive lighting design strategies across all projects at Qiddiya.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the lighting design team to ensure creativity, excellence, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate lighting effectively with architecture, landscape, and interior design.
- Ensure all lighting designs comply with relevant codes, sustainability standards, and quality requirements.
- Review and approve lighting design proposals, making sure they meet aesthetic, technical, and budgetary goals.
- Stay informed on emerging lighting technologies, trends, and best practices, promoting their adoption within the organization.
- Manage relationships with external consultants, vendors, and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.
- Prepare and present reports and presentations to executive leadership, updating on project progress and innovations in lighting design.
Bachelor s degree in Lighting Design, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; Master s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in lighting design and leadership roles, preferably within large-scale projects.
- Proven track record of managing complex lighting design projects from concept to completion.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and team management skills.
- Advanced proficiency with lighting design software and tools such as Dialux, Relux, AutoCAD, BIM/Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong understanding of lighting technologies, energy efficiency, and sustainable design principles.
- Ability to effectively collaborate across disciplines and manage stakeholder expectations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a creative, innovative approach to lighting design challenges.
