SENIOR CONSULTANT

Summary
Provides advanced clinical expertise, mentors, and trains medical staff. Plans, directs, organizes and coordinates the activities and functions within Medical Affairs in line with the mission, goals and objectives of the Hospital.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
ClinicalResponsibilities
1.Performs clinical duties and activelyengages in clinical practice.
2.Provides high quality ofmedical care to patients in accordance with the standards laid down by theHospital.
3.Works in multidisciplinaryteam to bring a multimodal approach to complex patient problem.
4.Assists the Chairman inensuring that Quality Improvement Programs are implemented.
5.Performs specialty procedures,conducts ward rounds and shares on-call rota as required.
6.Maintains relevant clinicalexperience, privilege and licensure.
AcademicResponsibilities
1.Directs and advices juniorstaff on patient management especially in the area of specialization.
2.Guides and activelyparticipates in the training and teaching of Residents, Fellows, Assistants,Consultants and other junior staff of the department.
3.Actively participates in theeducational activities and training programs of the department.
4.Promotes the provision ofPostgraduate Training Programs, Continuing Medical Education activities andother required educational and training courses.
5.Develops new courses orspecial teaching materials for the junior staff.
6.Actively participates innational and international conferences and outreach programs.
7.Actively participates in theeditorial board of reputable journals and serves on national/internationalscientific advisory boards or study sections.
Education
Graduation from anaccredited medical school, completion of required period of training in specialtyand/or subspecialty, with Arab or American Board certification, membershipand/or fellowship status in the United Kingdom and/or Canada or theirequivalent is required.
Experience Required
Completed twenty (20)years of consultant experiences is required.
