Nurse - Adult Cardiac Surgical ICU (CSICU)

The Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CSICU) provides care for adult patients requiring surgical treatment of cardiac or thoracic problems. This population includes patients requiring or having had thoracic surgery of the heart, lungs or great vessels. Off-service patients requiring ICU, cardiac monitoring or other nursing services may be admitted based on the availability of beds. Most commonly seen surgical procedures include:

• Coronary artery bypass surgery
• Valve repair and/or replacement
• Thoracic aortic aneurysm repair
• Heart transplant
• Congenital cardiac defect repairs
• ECMOVAD bridge to recovery and/or transplant
• Pacemaker implantation
• Left ventricular assist device
• Assist with emergency procedures at bed side (open chest, ECMO cannulation, percutaneous tracheostomy)

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, At least two years' recent acute nursing experience.
