Power Infrastructure Manager (Contract) Location: Riyadh & Jeddah, Saudi Arabia Contract Duration: August 2026 February 2027 Overview We are seeking an experienced Power Infrastructure Manager to support the delivery of a major international sporting event in Saudi Arabia. This role is responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing all temporary and permanent power infrastructure requirements across multiple competition and non-competition venues, ensuring safe, reliable, and uninterrupted electrical services throughout the event lifecycle. The successful candidate will have extensive experience delivering power infrastructure for large-scale sporting events, international tournaments, exhibitions, festivals, or major live events, working closely with venue operations, contractors, utility providers, and technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, implementation, and operational delivery of all power infrastructure across assigned venues and event sites.
- Develop and manage venue power strategies, distribution plans, load schedules, and contingency plans.
- Coordinate temporary power installations, generators, UPS systems, switchboards, cabling, and electrical distribution networks.
- Liaise with utility providers, consultants, contractors, venue owners, and technical suppliers to ensure all power requirements are delivered on schedule.
- Monitor installation, testing, commissioning, and operational readiness of all electrical infrastructure.
- Ensure power redundancy and backup systems are in place for critical event operations.
- Work closely with Venue Operations, Overlay, Broadcast, IT, Security, Technology, Competition, and Facilities teams to integrate power requirements across all functional areas.
- Manage contractor performance, project schedules, budgets, and quality assurance throughout the delivery phase.
- Oversee maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and rapid response to any electrical or infrastructure issues during event operations.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, international electrical standards, health and safety requirements, and project governance.
- Produce technical documentation, progress reports, risk assessments, and operational updates for senior management.
- Support venue testing, rehearsals, test events, and operational readiness activities.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing power infrastructure for international sporting events, tournaments, major exhibitions, conferences, festivals, or large-scale live events.
- Strong knowledge of temporary power systems, electrical distribution, generators, UPS systems, and venue infrastructure.
- Experience managing contractors, consultants, utility providers, and multiple technical stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety standards, risk management, and operational resilience.
- Excellent project management, planning, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple venues and deliver under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional certifications are advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills in English. Arabic is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel between Riyadh and Jeddah as required.
