Parsons are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Specialist to ensure the highest standards of quality and compliance in a large-scale airfield/airport development project.
This role requires deep expertise in inspection, testing, and quality assurance of civil infrastructure including runways, taxiways, aprons, pavements, terminals, and supporting structures.
What You ll Be Doing:
- Develop, implement, and enforce quality control procedures, inspection plans, and testing protocols.
- Monitor and verify compliance with project specifications, codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Conduct site inspections and testing of works including runways, taxiways, pavements, foundations, drainage systems, and terminal structures.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action plans.
- Maintain comprehensive quality records and ensure traceability for all works.
- Provide weekly, monthly, and executive-level quality status updates to project management and stakeholders.
- Ensure all works comply with local, national, and international standards relevant to airport infrastructure (e.g., ICAO, ASTM, ACI, ISO).
- Coordinate with design and engineering teams to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Oversee contractors and subcontractors to ensure works meet quality requirements.
- Witness, review, and approve testing activities including soil compaction, concrete strength, asphalt quality, and structural inspections.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of quality-related issues during construction and commissioning.
- Ensure that all test results and certifications meet operational and safety requirements.
- Identify recurring quality issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and contribute to lessons learned for future airport projects.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and compliance across the civil engineering team.
- Work closely with engineers, construction teams, procurement, and safety specialists to ensure alignment of quality objectives.
- Support audits by client representatives, regulatory authorities, and third-party inspection agencies.
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to address quality concerns and implement corrective measures.
What Required Skills You ll Bring:
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in quality assurance/inspection for large infrastructure or airport projects.
- Strong hands-on experience in runway, taxiway, terminal, pavement, and structural works.
- Expertise in codes, standards, testing procedures, and quality management systems.
- Experience with testing and inspection techniques for materials, concrete, asphalt, and earthworks.
- Excellent documentation, analytical, and reporting skills.
- Effective communication and leadership skills for coordination with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and QA/QC procedures for civil construction.
