CAD Draftsman

Job Purpose
STYRO 3D is looking for a technically strong CAD Draftsman to prepare accurate fabrication, production, and installation drawings for custom architectural, scenic, exhibition, event, and 3D fabrication projects.
The role requires someone who understands how designs are actually manufactured and installed—not only how they are drawn. The Draftsman will work closely with Project Managers, Designers, Production, CNC/Robotics, Steel, Carpentry, GRP/Fiberglass, Electrical, and Site Installation teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed 2D CAD drawings, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and installation drawings from approved concepts, 3D models, sketches, and site information.
- Convert architectural and creative designs into production-ready technical drawings.
- Prepare plans, elevations, sections, details, exploded views, assembly drawings, and fixing details.
- Produce accurate dimensions and fabrication details for:
- Steel structures and support frames
- Timber and plywood fabrication
- EPS / Styrofoam sculptural elements
- GRP / Fiberglass components
- Polyurea and hard-coated elements
- CNC and robotic-cut components
- ACP, acrylic, signage, and decorative cladding
- Exhibition stands, kiosks, portals, sculptures, props, façades, and scenic installations
- Lighting integration and basic electrical coordination
- Prepare steel connection, base plate, anchoring, support, and fixing details in coordination with the technical and structural teams.
- Break complex designs into practical components suitable for factory production, transportation, assembly, and site installation.
- Prepare drawings showing material thicknesses, profiles, dimensions, quantities, fixing methods, and finishes.
- Coordinate with the CNC/Robotics team to ensure drawings and files are suitable for machine production.
- Prepare cutting layouts and assist in optimizing material utilization where required.
- Review designer/client drawings and identify missing dimensions, technical conflicts, or impractical fabrication details.
- Coordinate drawing revisions based on production feedback, site conditions, and client comments.
- Conduct site measurements when required and convert measurements into accurate technical drawings.
- Prepare as-built drawings following completion of projects.
- Maintain proper drawing numbering, revision control, file organization, and project documentation.
- Support the estimation and production teams with dimensions, areas, quantities, and material take-offs when required.
- Coordinate continuously with the factory to resolve technical issues during fabrication.
- Ensure drawings clearly communicate the required information to fabricators, supervisors, subcontractors, and installation teams.
Required Skills
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, interior, and fabrication drawings.
- Strong understanding of fabrication methods and construction detailing.
- Good knowledge of steel, timber, plywood, fiberglass/GRP, EPS, acrylic, ACP, and similar fabrication materials.
- Ability to prepare highly detailed shop and fabrication drawings.
- Strong dimensional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to understand 3D geometry and translate complex shapes into manufacturable components.
- Good understanding of tolerances, joints, connections, fixing systems, and assembly methods.
- Ability to coordinate drawings with production teams rather than working purely from an architectural perspective.
- Good problem-solving ability and practical understanding of workshop fabrication.
- Ability to work on multiple fast-track projects simultaneously.

Experience preparing files for CNC routers, laser cutting, waterjet, robotic milling, or similar digital fabrication equipment is a strong advantage.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Drafting, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of CAD drafting experience.
- Previous experience in one or more of the following is strongly preferred:
- Event fabrication
- Exhibition stands
- Scenic fabrication

- Interior fit-out
- Steel fabrication
- GRP / Fiberglass production
- Theme parks or entertainment projects
