Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an exceptionally talented Senior Dry Utility/Electrical Engineer to join our site team on a major public realm development in Diriyah, which includes a series of iconic and neighborhood parks, open spaces, and over 55 kilometers of streetscape. The objective of this program is to create a vibrant, inclusive environment that enhances livability, accessibility, and community well-being.
What You ll Be Doing
- Report to the Construction Director and act as the discipline lead for dry utilities on site.
- Supervise and monitor the construction of all dry utility works (power, telecom, ICT, gas, street lighting, etc.) to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, authority standards, and project requirements.
- Review and comment on shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and ITPs related to dry utilities, and coordinate approvals with relevant stakeholders.
- Conduct daily site inspections and regular site walks to monitor progress, quality, and safety of dry utility works, and ensure adherence to project schedules.
- Coordinate and follow up on inspection requests (IRs), NCRs, and site observations with the contractor to ensure timely closure and corrective actions.
- Liaise closely with Project Managers, resident engineers, other discipline engineers, and the contractor s team to resolve site issues and interface conflicts (e.g., with roads, landscape, structures, wet utilities).
- Review and verify as-built drawings, test reports, and commissioning documentation for dry utilities.
- Participate in progress meetings, technical meetings, and coordination meetings, providing input on dry utility-related matters, risks, and mitigation measures.
- Monitor the contractor s work program, resources, and sequence for dry utilities and highlight any potential delays or constraints.
- Ensure that health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements are fully implemented and followed for all dry utility activities, in line with Parsons and project policies.
- Prepare and submit discipline-specific reports, including daily/weekly progress reports, quality reports, and technical memos as required.
- Support testing, commissioning, and handover of dry utility systems to the client and relevant authorities.
- Maintain professional communication and coordination with clients, client representatives, and local authorities/utility providers as required during construction.
What Required Skills You ll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering a related discipline from a recognized university.
- in dry utilities construction supervision (power, telecom, ICT, gas, street lighting, etc.), preferably on large-scale infrastructure or public realm projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction standards, authority/utility provider requirements, and international codes related to dry utilities.
- Proven experience in site-based supervision, inspection procedures, and management of contractors.
- Demonstrated leadership, coordination, and communication skills within multi-disciplinary project teams.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and utility coordination layouts.
- Familiarity with HSE and quality management systems in a construction environment.
- Experience in KSA or the GCC region is preferred.
