Head of Engineering - Desalination

Lead and manage the Design & Engineering function for the Water Business, ensuring the delivery of innovative, cost-effective, sustainable, and technically compliant engineering solutions for water, wastewater, desalination, reuse, treatment, distribution, and infrastructure projects. The role will drive engineering excellence, standardization, digital transformation, and support business growth through technical leadership

• Provide technical leadership for bids, proposals, project execution, and business
  development initiatives.

• Support market expansion into municipal, industrial, desalination, waste water treatment, and water reuse sectors.

  • Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams covering:
    o Process Engineering
    o Civil & Structural Engineering
    o Mechanical Engineering
    o Electrical Engineering
    o Instrumentation & Control
    o Pipeline Engineering
    o Hydraulic Modelling
    o BIM and Digital Engineering

  • Provide engineering leadership across EPC, Design-Build, BOOT, and PPP projects. • Ensure engineering deliverables are completed within schedule and budget. • Coordinate with project management, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations teams.

  • Bid & Proposal Support

    • Lead technical evaluations and engineering inputs during tendering activities.
    • Review technical specifications, RFPs, BOQs, and contract requirements.
    • Develop innovative technical solutions to enhance competitiveness and project win rates.
    • Participate in client presentations and technical clarifications.

  • Stakeholder Management

    • Interface with clients, consultants, regulators, authorities, technology licensors, and contractors.

    • Act as the organization's technical representative on major projects and strategic initiatives.

    • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to support business growth.

    • Quality, Safety & Compliance

      • Ensure compliance with applicable international standards and local regulatory requirements.
      • Support implementation of Quality Management Systems and
        engineering assurance processes.
      • Promote health, safety, environmental, and sustainability requirements throughout project design and execution.

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, Chemical, or Water
Resources Engineering.

• Master's Degree in Engineering, Water Management, or Business Administration
preferred.

• Registered Professional Engineer/Chartered Engineer preferred.

Experience

• 18-25 years of experience in water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Minimum 8-10 years in senior engineering leadership roles.
• Proven experience in large-scale EPC, Design-Build, Desalination, Water
Treatment Plant (WTP), Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), Pumping Stations,
and Pipeline projects.
• Experience in the Middle East/GCC region preferred.
