Radiology Technician - Technologist - Senior

Performs CT and MRI examinations and assist the radiologists in doing special procedures.

Carries out routine CT - MRI examinations in line with the agreed policies and procedures of the department.

Assists in carrying out specialized procedures under the supervision of Senior Staff.

Responsible for correct identification of patients and site of study before each examination.

Responsible for final reminder of female patients or female companion for the possibility of being pregnant or not.

Implements and monitors radiation safety measures to ensure safety of patients, staff and visitors in full compliance.

In CT, removes all radio-opaque materials from patient or table that could interfere with radiographic image.

In MRI, should remind the patient of any Ferro-magnetic objects that might cause harm or be affected by the magnetic field.

Be Knowledgeable in all sterile, aseptic techniques and equipment and nursing procedure necessary in the area of CT MRI.

Inspects all equipment under his or her control on a regular daily basis and ensures that the equipment is kept clean.

Educates patients and their families about health conditions, treatments and preventative measures if applicable.

Other duties as assigned within the scope of the job.

Must be able to clearly communicate with physicians, non-medical staff, patients and their families

Must be in continuous good radiological practice and should hold at least 2 years post-diploma experience

Must hold an appropriate radiographic/technological diplomas / Bachelor degree

Excellent command of oral and written English.

Knowledge of Arabic is preferable

License for practice as per the regional health regulatory authority e.g. (SCFHS / DHA)
