Job Summary
We are seeking a competent Chief Surveyor specialized in technical mining at the second level to join our team. The Chief Surveyor will be responsible for conducting surveys, providing accurate data for mining operations, and overseeing surveying activities to ensure efficiency and safety in mineral resource extraction. The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in the mining field, exceptional surveying skills, outstanding leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining a high level of efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate surveying activities in mining operations, including surface and underground surveying.
- Conduct topographic surveys, volumetric calculations, and mapping to support mine planning and development.
- Use surveying equipment such as total stations, GPS systems, and drones to collect accurate data.
- Ensure compliance with surveying standards, regulations, and safety protocols in mining environments.
- Collaborate with mining engineers and geologists to provide survey data for resource estimation and mine design.
- Manage the maintenance, calibration, and inventory of surveying equipment.
- Train and mentor junior surveyors in surveying techniques, equipment operation, and safety procedures.
- Analyze survey data, prepare reports, and communicate findings to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Mining Engineering, or a related field.
